Foster's book is comprehensive, concise and eminently practical with graduated exercises and studies included. Foster knew and worked with everyone: Caruso, Melba, Rachmaninov. He had attended the Guildhall School of Music in London and served on the faculty of New South Wales Conservatory of Music.
